Canela, who heads the non-governmental organization "Mecha Project", which is a prison pacification project, which for five years has been accompanying prisoners from the province of Buenos Aires and their families, cited that Juliana is receiving complaints, and clarifying that Juliana is the first robot that works for the benefit of inmates, prisoners and their families and comes from the Liberté cooperative organization, which is self-managed by prisoners.
She also mentioned that this is the first time that Juliana works together with Proyecto Mecha.
In this regard, Canela Bella said that this service works by sending the complaint to Juliana through the instant messaging application for smartphones, WhatsApp, and the number is +1 509 43 68 600.
The complaints, consisting of the violation of rights and that Juliana will receive, if they are sent from a place in the province of Buenos Aires, will be forwarded to Proyecto Mecha, who in turn will transfer them to "Punto Denuncia Tortura", which belongs to the Provincial Commission for Memory, with whom a joint work agreement was recently signed and the complaints that correspond to places outside the province of Buenos Aires, being from the national territory, Juliana, will send them to the National Committee for the Prevention of torture.
She clarifies that this system where Juliana receives complaints is not only for those who are housed in prisons, but also for those who are in police stations or other detention centers.
