In the last meeting of the Batán Prison Committee, they referred to how well the Health area of this unit is acting, behind closed doors, where more professionals, traumatology, psychologists, etc., have been incorporated, carrying out a very favorable attention for those who attend in search of a favorable response to their request.
Unfortunately happiness is never complete, now it has been detected that what is failing is the service of their penitentiary managers, of whom a bad behavior can be seen, towards imprisoned patients, who when they arrive at the place instead of making them pass to the new modular facilities, leave them waiting in the cell built with bars, where, in addition, windows without glass abound and waiting becomes an ordeal.
It has been observed that some of the prisoners who arrive there are patients with lung problems, very old people, with rheumatic problems and others.
The waits on many occasions are usually up to two hours or more in that "lion cage" as that place is recognized in the prison environment, and where the cold and standing for a long time become the executioners of turn, especially for older people and people with illnesses, as we said before with lung problems.
In this way, this type of situation was reflected within the committee where not only the prisoners participate as pavilion referents, but also prison authorities, such is the case of the sub-chief of the prison, the Martín Ybarra prison, and the worker social Julieta Torres, who is the link between the Headquarters and Health to coordinate all kinds of procedures inherent to health.
All those present echoed the situation and the committee's coordination promised to have a talk with those in charge of the Health Area so that these issues tainted with negativity do not happen again.
