The situation is extremely delicate, the excess of prisoners housed in Unit 15 turns the situation into overcrowding for prisoners, who often have to sleep on the floor and in situations without a mattress.

The alarming number was announced by the Committee for the prevention and resolution of conflicts, which met again in an attempt to find alternatives that bring relief to extreme situations like this one, which deeply affects the human sensitivity of those who suffer from it.

It was reported that a Habeas Corpus that is in force, establishes that the prisoners of the Mar del Plata jurisdiction do not go to another place and remain in the Batán prison.

Now, in order not to conflict with the current Habeas Corpus, the idea is that, from here, it is possible to prepare an HC, by which all entry to the Batán prison is stopped, of those prisoners who do not belong to the Mar del Plata jurisdiction. .

In this way, the prison population in the 15 would begin to decline, a situation that causes deep concern.

Batán, prison, has 16 pavilions and two population modules, each pavilion has fifty cells; there are currently pavilions, which have a population greater than what can be considered "NORMAL", but another has around 200 prisoners.

There are cells in certain pavilions that are populated by up to four prisoners, when it is known that the reduced dimensions, two meters wide, by almost three deep in each cell, when it is known that they were created to be inhabited by a single prisoner.

They must sleep on the floor and many times without a mattress, which worsens the situation and, at the same time, share a sanitary hole inside the cell, between four prisoners and on many occasions suffer a confinement of many hours where they must live in the already aforementioned physical space, which leads us to the clear reflection that we are facing overcrowding.

It is necessary that the Ministry of Justice of the province of Buenos Aires, through the head of the Ministerial Portfolio, Julio Alak, (Government of Axel Kicillof), echo what is happening in this prison unit, where human rights are run over by decisions that denote it.
