Under professional assistance

It has a capacity for a hundred hens, as anticipated by the Agricultural Engineer Flavia Salvatierra, who is an expert in the assembly of poultry spaces.

The professional arrived accompanied by INTA technicians Mauricio Navarro and Silvia Pessolano who have been assisting Unit 15 and Liberté for a long time, training in everything related to organic gardens.
Salvatierra said the assistance "is for the assembly of the chicken coop, since it also takes into account some things that a conventional system does not have, such as an agroecological approach and preserving the welfare of the animal that can be outdoors, that can graze, that can be in contact with nature, without forgetting that this animal is productive, and that it is going to be so that it lays eggs”, this is how the professional referred to this.
The chicken coop, which is reaching its final stage of construction, is to contain a hundred hens, and initially the task will be started with a hundred birds so that those in charge of the tasks can get used to it, understanding that it is a somewhat differentiated from what has been seen and the idea is that over time, as the work is consolidated, the number of animals will increase.
He also said that the number of birds is very interesting for a start and doing the math, I quote that with fifty hens that are in eighty percent of laying, it yields a balance of about forty eggs per day, that is, more than one maple of the aforementioned product, generating an important productive surplus to be able to sell and to be self-sufficient.
I clarify that the hen has a fairly simple management, so on that side it seems a small number because it has the ability to grow in number and continue to be a fairly simple management in larger numbers, clarifying that fifty birds is a good number to begin with.
With this project, said Engineer Salvatierra, this chicken coop and another in parallel are being built, four more are also being built within what is Mar del Plata.
Everything that is an agroecological approach is growing and with a lot of research, she pointed out, and it was extended that for this reason professional advice is needed since it is not a productive shed.
Regarding materials, during the visit of INTA technicians and the Agricultural Engineer, materials arrived for the chicken coop, specifically intended for the assembly of the bird park sector so that they have access to the outside and the fabric to close the covered sector that corresponds to the chicken coop, where they go to sleep, lay eggs, feed, etc.
Undoubtedly, this will be a productive unit that will grow over time in Liberté, adding to the already existing production tasks.
