Academia Latinoamericana de Derecho Penal y Penitenciario (ALDP)

The ALDPP promotes training and research in sentence execution law and criminal policy across Latin America. It organizes the Encuentro Latinoamericano de Derecho Penal & Penitenciario across multiple editions (Mexico, Ecuador, etc.) and regional penitentiary training courses. It collaborates with universities and professional associations throughout the region.

Asociación Argentina de la Justicia de Ejecución Penal (AAJEP)

The AAJEP brings together national and provincial judges specializing in criminal sentence enforcement. It promotes an interdisciplinary approach alongside social work, psychology, psychiatry, and medicine, convinced that sentence enforcement requires a plural and committed perspective. It organizes annual national conferences in different provinces (Córdoba, Salta, Santa Fe, Chaco, Mendoza, Corrientes, Chubut).

Comisión Provincial por la Memoria

Autonomous public body of the Province of Buenos Aires dedicated to the promotion and defense of human rights. Its Committee Against Torture receives complaints from the Buenos Aires provincial prison system. An ally of Liberté in the campaign against solitary confinement cells.

Colombian corporation dedicated to the defense and promotion of human rights, with a focus on incarcerated people and access to justice.

Families de Presos a Catalunya

🏛️ Aliado

The association supports families and reports human rights violations in Catalan prisons. Its work covers mistreatment, deaths by suicide in custody, third-degree supervision conditions, and complaint mechanisms before the Síndic de Greuges. Active presence on social media (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube) and Teaming.

Federación Argentina de Cooperativas de Crédito (FACC)

The FACC brings together credit cooperative entities from across the country and coordinates their institutional representation before public and private bodies. It has historically championed the recognition of credit cooperativism as a pathway to financing for productive and community sectors. It is part of regional networks such as OIBESCOOP.

Federación de Cooperativas de Trabajo de la República Argentina (FECOOTRA)

FECOOTRA brings together worker cooperatives from across the country and represents the self-managed sector at national and international levels. It works toward the consolidation of sustainable enterprises, the creation of genuine employment, and the strengthening of regional economies. It has provincial offices (Gualeguaychú, Tucumán) and participates in spaces such as CONARCOOP.

Instituto Brasileiro de Direitos Humanos (IBDH)

The IBDH supports public bodies, civil society, and multilateral organizations with advisory opinions, training, and human rights strategies. It publishes the Revista do IBDH (revista.ibdh.org.br), hosts research groups, and produces academic content with national and international reach.

Observatori del Sistema Penal i els Drets Humans (OSPDH) — Universitat de Barcelona

The OSPDH researches the expansion of the prison system, the increase in custodial sentences, abuse and torture, the detention and expulsion of foreign nationals, gender-based violence, zero-tolerance policies, Fortress Europe, and the consolidation of cultures of punishment. It is a member of the OMCT network (World Organisation Against Torture) and publishes the journal Crítica Penal y Poder.

Prison Radio Association

The Prison Radio Association (PRA) is a UK charitable organization founded in 2006, registered in England and Wales under charity number 1114760. Its mission is to use radio as a tool for transformation in contexts of incarceration, reduction of reoffending, and rebuilding of social bonds. In 2009 it founded National Prison Radio, the world's first national broadcaster directed at incarcerated people, now present in more than one hundred prisons across the United Kingdom, with main studios at HMP Brixton and HMP Styal. Through its Prison Radio International (PRI) programme, the PRA leads the global movement of radio stations produced from inside prisons: a network of initiatives across countries in Europe, North America, Asia, and Oceania that shares programming, training, editorial standards, and research. The Prison Radio international conference brought together representatives from twelve countries and four continents and gave rise to the sector's first international impact report. Cooperativa de Trabajo Liberté Ltda. maintains ties with the network through its station Radio Aires de Liberté, self-managed by incarcerated people from the Unidad Penal N°15 in Batán.

Proyecto Mecha

Network against penitentiary isolation founded in 2016 inside Unidad Penal N°15 in Batán. For nine years it sustained an international campaign that in 2025 succeeded in abolishing solitary confinement cells in the prison. Active historical archive.

Semillero de Penitenciario y Derechos Humanos — Universidad de Antioquia

🏛️ Aliado

Articulates research, teaching, and social outreach around penitentiary law. It organizes the Latin American Exchange of Seedbeds and Study Groups on Criminal and Penitentiary Law and participates in national conferences alongside universities such as San Buenaventura. It conducts visits to correctional facilities (e.g., EPMSC de Yarumal) and publishes papers and research work.
