I'm going to take you to solitary confinement

If there is a Conflict Prevention and Resolution Committee in the facility where you are housed, there should be no Punishment.
The Committees (CPSC) were created to stop the punishment of incarcerated people in prisons — not for it to continue.

Importance of the Conflict Committee

Request to be included in the Protocol
We remind you that Isolation Cells, PSAC units, or Punishment Cages may only be used as a last resort to protect your own life, the lives of others, or the security of the facility — NEVER FOR PUNISHMENT.

Rights and limits on sanctions

If you "disrespected" a prison officer, punishment is NOT appropriate.
If you broke or damaged part of the facility, punishment is NOT appropriate.
If you kicked the bars, punishment is NOT appropriate.
If you have addiction issues, punishment is NOT appropriate.
If you argue because your visit is not allowed in, punishment is NOT appropriate.
If you file a complaint, punishment is NOT appropriate.
IN NO CASE SHOULD YOU BE PUNISHED.

Procedure for unjustified punishment

If this happens, we recommend that you ask the Conflict Prevention and Resolution Committee operating in the facility where you are housed to include you in the protocol. If you are punished with isolation cells, admission cells, your own cell, a cage, or any other form of punishment, send the word CASTIGO to my WhatsApp +5492235336011 — in the case of Batán, I will immediately notify the Committee's Monitoring Body. In unit 50 for women and in other prisons in Buenos Aires province, I will notify the corresponding oversight body and, if necessary, will file a complaint with Human Rights organizations.

Message of support and recognition

The Committees were conceived by our godfather Mario Juliano to eradicate PUNISHMENT — not for it to continue.

Legality of punishment

PUNISHMENT is ILLEGAL.

Punishment cells: the dictatorship systematized them and democracy did not abolish them

At Batán Penitentiary Unit Nº15 the punishment cells —the extreme isolation device of the Buenos Aires prison system— were abolished. Three public bodies —CELS, the National Penitentiary Ombudsman and the Provincial Memory Commission—, the Argentine government itself before the UN Committee against Torture, an institutional investigation by the Ombudsman directed by Alcira Daroqui and Carlos Motto, and survivor testimonies from the Camps Circuit describe those cells as a common matrix with the dungeons of State terrorism.
