Meditation Workshops at Liberté

In a nutshell

Judge Aída Lhez coordinates meditation workshops at Liberté for incarcerated individuals in Batán, aiming to improve their well-being and promote positive changes, and plans to expand these activities in the future.

The Initiative

Judge Aída Lhez, from the Necochea judicial department, coordinates meditation workshops at the Liberté space, in the "Punto de Paz" Hall. These workshops are aimed at people deprived of liberty housed in penitentiary unit 15 of Batán.

Objective of the Workshops

The objective of these workshops is to provide tools that allow modifying behaviors in response to the burden represented by a confinement context.

The aim is to place people in a plan to face life thinking not only about modifying and sustaining the present, but also thinking about the outside.

Development of the Workshops

The proposal initially started in the pavilions, bringing these techniques closer to finally begin the work in the "Punto de Paz" Hall, which is located in Liberté territory.

Judge Aída Lhez has expressed feeling very comfortable and accompanied by an environment full of peace and empathy in this place.

Results and Future

For the moment, the judge arrives every two weeks to coordinate these workshops, where achievements are seen.

People who inevitably must go through confinement can rest better and change certain habits that are not favorable through exercises that do not exceed 30 minutes.

These techniques help to feel better with oneself and with one's own environment. The judge has mentioned that she wants to double down and develop more workshops at Liberté.
