Consultant Hernán Alberto Terneus —United Nations specialist in science and development— gave an open class at Liberté on how international conflicts are born, managed and resolved. «Labor "Modernization" as the Destruction of Social Gains»: a class by two labor lawyers at Liberté
Labor lawyers Cynthia Benzion and Leonardo Elgorriaga taught an open class on labor reform in Liberté's territory. More than eighty people — between Zoom and in-person at Batán — traced a century of labor law, from Article 14 bis to the Ley de Modernización Laboral, with a focus on what those who live off their work stand to lose, including people in prison.
Proyecto Mecha closes: the suggestion boxes in Batán have been abolished
After nine years of campaigns, complaints, and a radio program built inside Batán without institutional permission, Proyecto Mecha announces its closure — mission accomplished. Block 7 of Unidad Penal N°15 in Batán has ceased to be a solitary confinement block.
Juan and Matera Gaucha: the folklore made from within
Juan arrived at Unidad Penal N°15 in Batán from a life in the countryside, unable to read or write. Today he hosts Matera Gaucha*, his folklore program on Cooperativa Liberté's radio station.
"Amor y esperanza en Liberté" Siete matrimonios celebrados en el Restaurante Punto de Paz en la Unidad 15 de Batán
Se celebraron siete matrimonios en la Unidad 15 de Batán y se emitieron 80 DNI para internos, fortaleciendo vínculos familiares y promoviendo apoyo emocional, en un esfuerzo conjunto entre autoridades y la cooperativa Liberté para mejorar la vida de los internos y sus familias.
Refaccionarán el salón de la Capilla de la unidad 15
Se realizarán refacciones en la capilla de la unidad 15 para su restauración, y se llevan a cabo jornadas de evangelización Cura Brochero, en un contexto de actividades religiosas y educativas que buscan fortalecer la comunidad penitenciaria.
Conejos en Liberté
Una familia de conejitos, previamente enjaulados en el exterior, fue liberada en la cooperativa Liberté en la Unidad carcelaria 15 de Batán, disfrutando ahora de plena libertad en ese espacio.
